Salvitas® Thermoplastic Road Marking Paint

Salvitas thermoplastic road marking paint is a hot-melt, powder-based safety coating manufactured by Advanced Techno Engineers under the brand name Salvitas. Salvitas Road Marking Paint is a high-performance coating solution designed for creating durable, highly visible traffic markings on roads, highways, parking areas, industrial floors, and other traffic management surfaces. It provides excellent visibility, adhesion, weather resistance, and long service life under heavy traffic conditions.

The paint is formulated to deliver clear lane markings, edge lines, zebra crossings, directional arrows, symbols, and safety markings while maintaining brightness and appearance even under harsh environmental conditions. Road marking paints are generally designed for applications on asphalt and concrete surfaces with quick drying and good reflective properties.

Step-by-Step Mechanical Application

1. Surface Preparation: The concrete or bituminous road must be completely dry and clear of dust, oil spillage, loose gravel, or moisture. If applied over old paints, the surface must be scrubbed down with wire brushes to guarantee strong bonding.
2. Hot-Melt Preheating: The dry Salvitas powder is transferred into a truck-mounted or standalone mechanized hot-melt kettle. It is heated continuously to 200°C while being mechanically agitated to ensure an even, uniform flow without charring or skinning.
3. Screeding / Extrusion : The liquefied polymer flows into a specialized thermoplastic road-marking machine. The machine applies the molten plastic through a screed box or spray gun onto the road at a standard thickness of 2.5 mm.
4. Retro-reflective Intermix Drop-On : As the machine drops the hot plastic, an automated pressurized dispenser simultaneously showers additional retro-reflective glass beads (100 to 150 microns) directly onto the wet line. The beads sink halfway into the molten plastic, ensuring immediate nighttime reflectivity by bouncing vehicle headlight beams straight back to the driver.
5. Polymerization and Curing : As the compound cools down to ambient environmental temperatures, it hardens back into a solid plastic state. Within 10 to 15 minutes, the lane markings are strong enough to withstand heavy vehicle traffic without tracking or smudging.
